The ‘See What You Print’ Printer
Simply opening the paper tray turns the printer on, bringing you to a personalized start screen of wirelessly networked devices and online sources. To print only what you intend, you can format margins, edit pictures and ditch unwanted printing areas all with the flick of a finger on the 17-inch display. How’s your ink supply looking? Select the ink icon and the interface fades, giving you a view inside the machine, augmented with superimposed ink level and inserted paper type information.
Most important, having the 1:1 preview screen continuously calibrated to the printer ensures the color results are consistent and predictable. Come to think of it, wouldn’t this peripheral perhaps be better named the PWYS printer? Then again, better questions are when, where and for how much this disruptive concept may eventually come to market.
